If you are — take a break!

It’s important to balance business and pleasure; not to separate but to be sure they all blend in well to the whole picture of our life overall.

Today, I baked lemon squares and a lemon poppy seed cake (I usually do my baking on Saturday or Sunday so we have the snackies for the week). My husband was in his workshop varnishing the wood trim on the canoe so it looks spiffy the next time we go on vacation (oops … that’s probalby in a couple weeks … I forgot again! It’s hard to keep track of all this vacation time); then he set up the template to do a test run for a sign for our trails this summer. We’re deciding on the colour combinations soon.

Then, after a lunch of homemade vegetable lentil soup (I admit there was some wine in it) and a sandwich; we headed up the 100′ subescarpment hill to the greenhouse — on snowshoes. Then, we switched to cross-country (nordic) skis and toured the outer loop (6+km) for about 1.5 hours with Emily (our puppy). Then, back to the greenhouse to warm up, water the plants that are in holding pattern. I trekked back down the hill to start preparing for a talk on Tuesday night by printing off the handouts for 50 people.

Now, I’m creating the ‘widget’ from Amazon to paste into my website so that people have the opportunity to purchase directly.

More tomorrow…

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
